Benefits for women, SC/ST and divyang owners
Almost every scheme pays more when the owner is a woman, SC/ST or divyang. A few examples:
- CMEGP / PMEGP: 25% (urban) / 35% (rural) instead of 15% / 25%, and own contribution of only 5%.
- Tourism Policy 2024: an additional 5% capital incentive.
- MIISP-2025: an additional 5%, 10% or 20% depending on the taluka zone and the share of ownership and employees.
- CGTMSE: 90% guarantee cover for women-owned micro and small units, so the bank asks for less or no collateral.
- Aai Tourism Policy (women): interest up to 12% refunded on loans up to ₹15 lakh, maximum ₹4.5 lakh, for up to 7 years.
What decides your benefit
- Location – the taluka zone (A, B, C, D, D+, special districts) changes the rate a lot.
- Activity – manufacturing, service, hospitality, agri-processing and storage each have their own schemes; some activities are excluded.
- Investment and stage – many schemes cover only new units; some cover expansion.
- Owner category – women, SC/ST, divyang, ex-servicemen and some communities get higher rates or separate schemes.
- Timing – several schemes need registration before the project starts. Applying late is the most common reason for losing a subsidy.
